Universal Materials Incubator Co., Ltd. (UMI), a venture capital firm specializing in the material and chemical industries, has completed a memorandum of understanding with Japan Green Investment Corp. for Carbon Neutrality (JICN) regarding the quantitative evaluation of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions. The two companies will collaborate in the quantitative evaluation of GHG emission reductions and avoided emissions.
JICN has also joined the UMI Ⅲ Decarbonization Investment Limited Partnership (the “UMI Decarbonization Fund”). In addition to promoting the activities of the UMI Decarbonization Fund, the two companies will work toward quantitative evaluations of GHG emission reductions from the businesses targeted for investments by this Fund.
As a venture capital company specializing in the material and chemical industries, UMI contributes to GHG emission reductions through investments in technologies and businesses in the decarbonization field, where material and chemical technologies frequently represent key solutions.
